Blues Nip Mariachis, 5-4
|
The inspired effort of Nuevo Mexico right fielder Mark Trembath was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Barton Springs Blues. Trembath was 4 for 7 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. With the win, Barton Springs goes to 54-41, while the Mariachis fall to 55-40.
Barton Springs needed the clutch hitting of Mark Hall to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Blues on top, 5-4. For the game, Hall had 1 home run and 2 singles in 7 at-bats.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Nuevo Mexico manager Kyle Bass.
