Rails Handle Farmers, 5-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Lancaster Farmers and Richland Rails get after it.
The Richland Rails picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 5-1. Starting pitcher Arthur Corrigan played a key role in the triumph. Corrigan, the winner, moves to 8-4. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks.
Ricardo Landata went 2-2 with a double for Richland. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Chris MacIntyre. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
Landata called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
The loss makes Lancaster 28-51.
