Sixshooters Topple Eclipse, 11-4, as Curtis Shines
|
Led by Craig Curtis, the Westwood Sixshooters downed the Northville Eclipse, 11-4. Curtis was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Sixshooters. Cory Fisher, the winner, improved to 1-3. He held the Eclipse to 4 runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Westwood occupies 4th place in the Menard's AA at 42-32.
Curtis had a key at-bat for Westwood early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and gave Westwood an early 1-0 lead.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Curtis told the Westwood Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."
