Fat Cats Best Javelina in Pitching Duel

Both teams had their chances, but the Ottawa Fat Cats eventually prevailed.
Donald Kane never let the Javelina get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Fat Cats to a win, 2-1. Kane, now 10-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The save went to Jonathan Luna, his 23rd this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for José Rodríguez? The Ottawa center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Fat Cats on top, 2-0. For the game, Rodríguez had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just try to be a dog, have good swings, good at-bats," said Rodríguez.
The win puts the Fat Cats at 42-31, while the Javelina drop to 35-38.
