Blues Tack 5-2 Loss on Saboteurs
|
The Barton Springs Blues got a stellar performance from pitcher Chris Thompson, who handcuffed the Toledo offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Toledo Backyard Park. Thompson, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. The Blues improved to 40-28.
Barton Springs relied on the bat of Joe Madden to get the win. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Blues ahead, 2-0. For the game, Madden had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I liked his command," said Barton Springs manager Joe Kehoe. "Chris was throwing strikes."
