Eclipse Top Sixshooters, 7-3
|
Northville picked up a win at Old-Timers Park, bumping off the Westwood Sixshooters, 7-3. Pitcher Edmund Barnett was a major reason the Eclipse emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Barnett, now 4-3. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Yuan Hsueh earned the save, his 6th, for the Eclipse.
Had Scott Willis not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Willis hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Eclipse.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Northville manager Pedro Ángel.
The win elevated the Eclipse to 39-16.
