Saboteurs Fall Short, 2-1, at Barton Springs
|
Blues Field was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Barton Springs Blues had to overcome a good performance from Toledo pitcher Ray Wright to claim a 2-1 win at Blues Field. Wright went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Barton Springs reliever Sjaak Est picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ray Wright absorbed the loss. Joe Anthony earned the save, his 17th, for the Blues.
Kuniyuki Sato had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth for Barton Springs. He came through with a solo home run to put Barton Springs in front, 2-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Sato said.
The victory gives Barton Springs a record of 31-21.
