5 Straight Wins for Blues

The Barton Springs Blues took Richland pitcher Jorge Zapata's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Rails Ballpark. The final score had Barton Springs getting past the Rails, 4-2. Zapata went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. David Ferguson, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. The 5th-place Blues have won 5 consecutive games.
Barton Springs used the clutch hitting of Bogdashka Eremkin to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blues ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Eremkin told the Barton Springs Times.
