Ghosts Stick Fat Cats with 5-3 Loss
|
The inspired effort of Ottawa first baseman Bill Martin was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-3, to the Casper Ghosts. Martin was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Ken Hickton, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Corbin Dundee recorded the save, his 4th.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Pakomio Alepeleke? The Casper catcher had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Ghosts on top, 3-2. For the game, Alepeleke had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I had a good game," said Alepeleke. "Winning makes it even better."
The Ghosts sit in 4th place in the Menard's AA with a record of 16-11.
