Farmers Thrill Fans with 4-3 Win
|
The Lancaster Farmers topped the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 4-3, in M3L Double A action at Farmers Field. The standout performance belonged to Lancaster pitcher and Davenport, Iowa, native Marty Bond. At 10-11, the Farmers claim 7th place in the Menard's AA.
Shintaro Hagi was the walk-off hero for Lancaster. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Farmers center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Bond told the Lancaster Bulletin.
