Rails Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Arizona wasted a solid 9-inning effort from starting pitcher Steve Crabtree, losing to Richland, 2-1, at Rails Ballpark. Richland reliever Frank Smith picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Melvin Walton was saddled with the loss. The loss makes Arizona 7-11.
The clutch hit was provided by Lanny Coleman. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off Melvin Walton in the bottom of the tenth.
Coleman said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
