The Strip was the site of a tense game between the Las Vegas Flamingos and Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC.

Arthur Ward pitched a gem to lead Thunder Bay to victory over the Las Vegas Flamingos, 3-1. In 6 innings, Ward surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Wulf Hinkamp earned his 5th save in 8 chances.

Tyler Harris helped out the Thunder Bay cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams said.
