Knights Defeat Coeur, 4-2
|
The Kingston Township Knights took St. Louis pitcher Thomas Zachary's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The BFIB. The final score had Kingston Township getting past the Coeur, 4-2. Zachary went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 6. The Knights, at 69-31, lead by one game in their division.
Kingston Township used the timely hitting of Rashid Qutaybah to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Knights on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Qutaybah said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
