Knights Earn 4-1 Road Win Over Detroit
|
Kingston Township beat Detroit on the strength of starter Nick Long's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. Long, now 14-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. George Atwater earned the save for Kingston Township, his 36th.
Kingston Township used the bat of Jason Longoria to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knights ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Longoria told the Kingston Township Today.
The Third League-leading Knights are 68-30.
