Leviathan Prevail, 5-3, Over Northern Virginia
|
Nova Scotia pitcher Ben Frazier did his part in helping his team beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Frazier, now 11-8, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. With the win, Nova Scotia pushed its record to 49-48.
The Leviathan got an important contribution from catcher Cam Lumsden, who in the bottom of the first hit a curveball into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Leviathan ahead, 4-0.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Lumsden.
