Coeur Sink Leviathan, 6-2
|
The St. Louis Coeur got a stellar performance from pitcher George Law, who handcuffed the Nova Scotia offense en route to a win, 6-2, at The Dungeon in Halifax. Law went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 5-1. Eugene Pearce closed it out for his 3rd save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ozzie Canales-Lister? The St. Louis shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Coeur on top, 4-1. For the game, Canales-Lister had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Law.
The Coeur saw their record improve to 48-32.
