Griffin Helps Echo Park Cruise to 13-3 Win
|
The Echo Park Lakers easily defeated the Kingston Township Knights, 13-3, at Cloverdale Legion Park, with designated hitter Jon Griffin a main contributor to the win. He belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 9 for Echo Park. Hang-ki Cong picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-5. He struck out 5 in 5 innings. Echo Park, at 34-37, occupies 8th place in the Third League.
Raymond Parsons dealt the Knights a blow in the top of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Echo Park leading 2-1, Parsons, who is tied for 8th in the 3L in triples with 3, hit a 1-2 curveball for a run-scoring single.
"We got our butts kicked," said Kingston Township manager Rayzor Ray.
