Lakers Drop Coeur, 4-1
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Echo Park Lakers starter George Hensley was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the St. Louis Coeur, 4-1. Hensley, now 3-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing no runs.
In the top of the first, Donald Anderson ambushed a 2-2 changeup from Doug Santamarina and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Echo Park a quick 2-0 lead.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Hensley.
Echo Park is now 28-34.
