Leviathan Stumble, Lose to Rainbow Mermaids
Colm Lithgoe made an impact in the 8-1 Northern Virginia win over Nova Scotia. Lithgoe, who is tied for 6th in the 3L in triples with 3, went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The winner was Marty Taylor in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Ben Frazier took the loss. The Rainbow Mermaids have now won 4 straight.

With Northern Virginia leading 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Lithgoe hit a cutter from Ben Frazier for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 8-1.

In postgame remarks to the Northern Virginia Today, Lithgoe was in a reflective mood. "Sometimes," he said, "I can't believe my good luck. Playing a game and making a living at it."
