The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC had to overcome a fine effort from Charleston pitcher Luis Gutiérrez to grab a narrow 5-4 win at Charleston Armory. Gutiérrez went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Jerry Sargent picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. James Tucker was tagged with the loss. The Northern Lions BC, at 26-32, sit in 10th place in the Third League.

The most important at-bat for Thunder Bay came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Leonard Saunders reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, putting Thunder Bay up, 5-4.
