Nova Scotia Gets 7-5 Win
|
The Nova Scotia Leviathan topped the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Jeff Fields. Fields was 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Leviathan. Jorge Valdéz picked up the save for Nova Scotia, his 13th of the year. Nova Scotia raised its record to 30-22 with the win.
The game turned with two out in the top of the sixth when Fields, who is tied for 4th in the 3L in stolen bases with 10, hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Leviathan into the lead, 5-3.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Nova Scotia manager Tyler Studebaker.
