Lakers Best Flamingos in Pitching Duel
|
Echo Park starter Jason O'Rourke put a stranglehold on the Las Vegas offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Lakers to a 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was O'Rourke, now 2-4. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. The 8th-place Lakers now have a win-loss record of 23-28.
The Lakers got an important contribution from designated hitter Jon Griffin, who in the bottom of the third knocked a first pitch fastball into right for a run-scoring triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Lakers ahead, 2-0.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Griffin said after the game.
