Leviathan Defeat Battery, 2-1
|
Charleston Armory was the site of a tense game between the Charleston Battery and Nova Scotia Leviathan.
Nova Scotia got an elite performance from starting pitcher Earl Hurdle in taking a 2-1 decision over the Charleston Battery. Their 29-21 record puts the Leviathan third in the Third League.
Though he didn't earn the victory, Hurdle kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Nova Scotia offense came through. Over 10 innings, he allowed 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 14.
"Every loss hurts," said Charleston manager Don Lookingbill. "But this was a tough one."
