Mariachis Deal Javelina 4-3 Defeat

Arizona got a decent performance from pitcher Cash McBride, but it wasn't enough to beat the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis. Nuevo Mexico won the Javelina Ballpark contest, 4-3. McBride threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Nuevo Mexico reliever Cortez Aguila picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cash McBride shouldered the loss. Daniel Watson got credit for the save for Nuevo Mexico. It was his 2nd of the year.
Nuevo Mexico used a well-timed hit by Bryan Jacobs to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mariachis ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Jacobs said.
The defeat makes Arizona 3-8.
