Fighting Dachshunds Fall Short, 2-1, at Pennsauken
|
Pennsauken Park was the site of a tense game between the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds and Pennsauken Flyers.
Pennsauken Flyers starter Hideyoshi Sasaki turned in a sterling performance against the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. In 5.1 innings, Sasaki surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed no runs.
Early in the game, right fielder Andrew McCaffery had a 2-run double for Pennsauken. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Flyers on top, 2-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," McCaffery told a Pennsauken Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
The Flyers now have a record of 41-54.
