|
Tortolita got a strong outing from Cliff Scarlett as the Drummers defeated the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 5-0, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. After today's action, Tortolita sits at 47-43, while Ellenburg falls to 32-58.
Tortolita needed the clutch hitting of Pielgrzym Myslajek to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Drummers on top, 3-0. For the game, Myslajek had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Scarlett. "Successful pitchers do it."
