The Tortolita Drummers and Norfolk Pajaritos put on a pitchers' duel.
Tortolita rode a good effort from starter Cliff Scarlett to beat the Norfolk Pajaritos at Drummers Ballpark. The final score was 2-0. Scarlett went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-5.
The Drummers got a lift from second baseman Kauto Jarvi, who in the bottom of the first hit a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season put the Drummers on top, 1-0.
"The old adage is true," said Jarvi. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
Tortolita, at 43-37, sits in 5th place in the Silver AAA.
