Sacramento and Ft. Myers got after it at League Park.

A good performance from right fielder Joaquín Díaz helped the Sacramento Redlegs defeat the Ft. Myers Marlins, 7-2. Díaz was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Redlegs. Javier Dávila, the winning pitcher, is now 5-5. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 0.

Sacramento took a 7-2 lead on Díaz's 7th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Eric Hill in the top of the seventh, propelled Sacramento to the win.

"It's not about individual awards," Díaz told a Sacramento Citizen reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."

The Redlegs now have a mark of 45-35.
