The inspired effort of Syracuse third baseman Yasuhiko Morita was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-5, to the Sacramento Redlegs. Morita went 2-3 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win belongs to Roberto Sánchez in relief. His record improves to 6-3. Korbin Dallas took the loss for Syracuse. With the win, Sacramento upped its record to 40-30.

Francisco Vázquez, the 24-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Vázquez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Sacramento up, 5-3.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Vázquez said after the game.
