Redlegs Cut Down Fighting Dachshunds, 1-0
The Sacramento Redlegs defeated the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 1-0, in USSL Triple A action at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Sacramento pitcher Gunnar Quinn had a standout performance. Quinn, now 6-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Bill Williams got credit for the save for Sacramento. It was his 7th of the year.

The Redlegs got an important contribution from right fielder Joaquín Díaz, who in the bottom of the first hit a cutter into right for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Redlegs ahead, 1-0.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Quinn said.

The Redlegs move to 37-26 with the win, while the Fighting Dachshunds drop to 20-43.
