Fighting Dachshunds Beat Calgary, 5-4
|
Starting pitcher Félix Montáñez pitched well enough to help the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds beat the Calgary Lynx, 5-4. Ellenburg, with the win, climbs to 18-42.
Ellenburg took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, pinch hitter Andrew Smith hit a 2-run home run that brought the crowd to its feet.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Smith. "I like it."
