8 Straight Wins for Flyers
|
Ft. Myers pitcher Alain Monnet gave the Flyers all they could handle, but in the end, Pennsauken left League Park with a win, 2-1. Monnet allowed no runs on 1 hit over 5 innings. Fernando Rojas locked down his 2nd save. The Flyers raised their record to 25-20.
The outcome might have been different for Pennsauken, had it not been for Terry Gibson, the 25-year old center fielder . Gibson stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Pennsauken up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Runs were at a premium," said Pennsauken manager Mike Preston.
