Redlegs Beat Pride, 3-2
|
Bernardo Rivera pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Hartford Pride, despite Rivera's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Sacramento Redlegs at Pride Park. With the win, Sacramento upped its record to 26-19.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ricardo Villanueva? The Sacramento designated hitter had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Redlegs on top, 3-1. For the game, Villanueva had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Hartford manager Terry King said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
