The Fog faced a stiff challenge from Sacramento pitcher Frank Randolf, but persevered to claim a win at Fog Park. The final score was 2-1. Randolf went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Sunset District reliever Adrián Correa picked up the win to move to 2-0. Ken O'Neal suffered the loss. After today's action, Sunset District sits at 23-14; Sacramento slips to 21-16.
Had Gregory Johnson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Johnson hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Fog.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Johnson.
