Pajaritos Top Sacramento, 5-4
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Norfolk Pajaritos eventually prevailed.
The performance of Rick MacIlleriach proved critical in helping Norfolk beat Sacramento, 5-4. The Pajaritos first baseman went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Chris Small, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings.
Norfolk used a timely hit from Harrison Tudge to get the win. The second baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pajaritos ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," MacIlleriach told the Norfolk News.
With the victory, the Pajaritos record now stands at 14-20.
