Squirrel Monkeys Topple Pajaritos, 9-6
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys defeated the Norfolk Pajaritos, 9-6, at Norfolk Field. Syracuse left fielder Martín Pliego had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Syracuse reliever Al Moulin was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Martin Porter took the loss. The 8th-place Pajaritos have lost 5 consecutive games.

Syracuse used the bat of Roy MacDonald to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 7-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Scott Garrison.
