Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Fighting Dachshunds
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds turned back the Sacramento Redlegs, 7-6, at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Eric Heath, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs. Ambrosi Pigafetta earned the save for Ellenburg, his 2nd. The win has Ellenburg at 5-9.
The most important at-bat for Ellenburg came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Steve Younger reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run, putting Ellenburg up, 6-5.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Heath, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
