Drummers Suffer 5-3 Setback
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys defeated the Tortolita Drummers, 5-3, in USSL Triple A action at Drummers Ballpark. Martín Pliego pulled his weight. The 7-year veteran was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs. Bryce Poindexter was credited with the save for Syracuse, his 4th of the season. Syracuse is now 4-2.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Frank Corbett to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Tortolita manager Marcos Costa.
