The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Ft. Myers Marlins, 4-1. Syracuse pitcher and Ft. Worth, Texas, native Jeff Morehead led the way. The save went to Bryce Poindexter, number 2 for him. Syracuse has a record of 2-1.
Morehead was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 1-0. In 8 innings of work, Morehead gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 5. The Marlins were never able to generate much offense.
