The Sioux Falls Red Pandas got a superb performance from pitcher Raúl Cabrera. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kansas. The Rainbeaus won the game, 2-1. Cabrera threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Casey Parsons snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-1 on the season. The save went to Alex Thompson, number 3 for him.

Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Tim Wise's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Kansas first baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Sioux Falls skipper Fred Leos.

Kansas occupies 9th place in the Premier AAA at 33-60.
