Red Pandas Deal Nobles 7-5 Defeat
|
The Sioux Falls Red Pandas had to overcome a big game from Bakersfield first baseman Jean Kools to leave Jerome Grounds with a victory. And they did, winning 7-5. Kools was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Robert Shirt, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 9-3. Rodney Johnson closed it out for his 13th save.
Sioux Falls relied on the hitting of Ming-an Yin to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Red Pandas on top, 7-2. For the game, Yin had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Yin told the Sioux Falls Times.
The Red Pandas now have a mark of 52-37.
