Syracuse designated hitter Bill Gatacre had a good game, even if his team did not. The Starks dropped a 5-4 decision to Milton at Milton Corner Tavern. Gatacre went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win elevated the Dogfish Head to 48-39.

The clutch hit was provided by Rutger McGroarty. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off Steve Ward in the bottom of the ninth.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," McGroarty said.
