Dodos Suffer 3-1 Setback
|
Monongahela got a first-rate effort from pitcher Hyeong-ro Yi, who frustrated Hialeah hitters en route to a 3-1 Monsters triumph at Dodos Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Yi, now 3-3. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 3. Earning his 7th save of the year was Tetsu Gato.
Monongahela got the win thanks to a clutch hit from César Rodríguez. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Monsters ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Monongahela skipper Sancho Tornero.
The triumph puts Monongahela at 46-34 for the season.
