The Hialeah Dodos got a strong performance from pitcher Jesús Ríos, who stymied the Syracuse offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Stark Stadium. The 'W' lifts Hialeah's record to 34-42.

The Dodos got a big at-bat from right fielder George McLean. For the game, McLean went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Hialeah a 1-0 lead.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Syracuse manager Allen Carlson. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
