The Reserves faced a stiff challenge from Monongahela pitcher Oliver Haddow, but persevered to claim a win at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The final score was 2-0. Haddow went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. John Moyer, credited with the win, is now 5-3. He allowed no runs on 2 hits. Logan Heck locked down his 2nd save.
Manny Costello, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in home runs with 13, contributed to the Athletic Club KC win with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said Costello. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
Athletic Club KC is now 35-40.
