|
Brenton Hale knocked in 5 runs to help Monongahela beat Milton, 9-5. Hale produced 2 singles, 1 double, and 1 home run. The winning pitcher was Manuel Peña. He tossed 114 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. Monongahela bumps their record to 40-29 with the win.
Hale came through with some timely hitting for Monongahela. With Milton trailing 5-2 in the top of the seventh, Hale hit a 1-1 cutter for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 6-5, Monongahela.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Monsters manager Sancho Tornero, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
