The Milton Dogfish Head topped the Syracuse Starks, 8-1, in USPL Triple A action at Stark Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Milton designated hitter Kelvin van Enk. Elvin Olson got the win, improving to 9-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The Dogfish Head move to 36-30 with the win, while the Starks drop to 23-43.
With Milton leading 3-0 in the top of the fifth, van Enk hit a 2-run single off Syracuse hurler Jorge Vázquez. It was the 26th hit of the season for van Enk and put his team ahead, 5-0.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Allen Carlson.
