Humpbacks Go 10 Innings to Beat Hialeah, 4-3
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks downed the Hialeah Dodos, 4-3, in 10 innings. Steve Covington led the way, going 3-for-5 for Alaskan. Lloyd Natoff, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The loss makes Hialeah 28-32.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Covington delivered big-time for Alaskan, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Yu-eh Wang. The game-changing hit put the Humpbacks on top, 4-3.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Kelly Flint, the Alaskan skipper.
