Starks Top Brass, 2-0, Behind Walker
|
The Syracuse Starks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Adam Walker, who muffled the Baton Rouge offense en route to a tight 2-0 Starks win at Brass Field. Johnny Flannery recorded the save, his 5th. The Starks improved to 21-33.
Walker, a native of Norfolk, Virginia, was dealing all game. He kept Baton Rouge hitters off-balance, while giving the Starks 7.1 quality innings. Walker threw 68 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 4.
"I liked his command," said Syracuse manager Allen Carlson. "Adam was throwing strikes."
