Losing Streak Continues for Thunderbirds with 6-5 Loss to Rocks
|
The Plymouth Rocks dealt the Hamilton Thunderbirds a 6-5 loss at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Edward White was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Millard Whipp got credit for the save for Plymouth. It was his 13th of the year. Hamilton's current losing streak is now 8 games.
Plymouth used the timely hitting of Abraham Waddle to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rocks on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Hamilton manager León Domínguez. "But we decided not to take it."
